Release Day... FINALLY!!!
The day is finally here!!!
Mastering The Art of Female Cookery is finally here… Thank you to everyone who stuck with the creation and the long awaited release of probably one of my favorite stories to date.
It is part fictional memoir and part humorous cookbook (please do not attempt these recipes at home). The story starts with 7-year old Cora Sweeney watches her family be murdered at the hands and mouths of cannibal women. Over the years, her trauma leads her to learn she is one too. The Sapphic horror romance takes the reader on two-decade journey of self discovery, love, and relationships.
This story is not your typical lesbian romance, no… this is an extreme horror novel that is riddled in humor, as well as sex and gore. If you liked “The Taste of Women,” you will love Mastering The Art of Female Cookery.
So what else is on the horizon… Both “Baby” and “Deep Roots Down South” have been put on hiatus while I refocus my attention. I have begun writing a Sapphic retelling of Grimm’s Fairy Tales, “The Goose Girl” and a few short stories for some anthologies coming up.
My current WIP is one for an execution anthology… my two main characters are women in love in a society that does not agree with same-sex relationship and considers one of them a witch. Think of a 60’s witch trial gone horribly wrong.
Girl/Mistress #4 is still currently in limbo… waiting for a miracle of money to happen so I can pay for an editor on it. I may seek options like a Go Fund Me for this book to be released, I am not sure. Meanwhile… I might begin the second draft of book #5. It’s just so disheartening to see a finished book sitting there without the means to release it. I don’t want to release without an edit.
This is the hazards of self-publishing. $$$ or the lack of it. You might ask how one book can be released but not the other. Mastering The Art of Female Cookery is a horror book which is released under my horror press, therefore we have an inhouse editor. We only release horror books, not romance. Even if I wanted to use the same person, I’d have to pay her because the press is not releasing this book.
