The Low-Down #1007
Would you like live readings?
Last night, I was at a book launch for Erik McHatton, who is an author over at Undertaker Books. His debut collection of cosmic horror was released this past week, and during his book launch, he read from his book. Amazing voice. Trust me, if he started recording audiobooks, I’d pay him for some of mine.
I also follow other authors on Substack, who read their chapters like an audio book. Guys like Simon K. Jones releases his serialized chapters with an audio reading for those who prefer that format.
It got me thinking. AGAIN!
I’ve juggled around with Podcast ideas, though I don’t know what I would talk about — other than myself, but no one wants to hear that.
I guess my question would be… do you want author readings?
Ultimately, I want to give reasons for people to subscribe… and while this poll doesn’t mean I will follow the majority, I am still processing the magnitude of what it would entail for me to do videos or audios.
WHAT’S ON THE BOOKS…
I am slowly plugging away at Thorns of Yesterday with the release of chapter two this morning. But I am struggling to find the time needed to deep dive into the manuscript.
At the end of July, my stepfather passed away. I have been in Las Vegas for over a month now to help my father sort through the mess. My time is being eaten away by little things. Like today, I got home from my 2hr coffee retreat (Starbucks) and had to deal with breakfast, cleaning out a closest, going to donation drop off, then headed to groceries, lunch, and cleaning the kitchen.
I finally get a moment to breath and sit at my laptop again… and here I am.
I released one of my early works on my website at $0.99. King of the Kingdom is like Kingdom Keepers on an acid trip. Since it is more fanfiction based, it’s not available on Amazon. The only place to read it is off of my website, unless the readers want me release online with an audio/video reading. LOL.
All other WIPs are on pause until I finish Thorns of Yesterday. If I squirrel onto something else, nothing will get finished. One book at a time.
That’s all I got going on for now… Don’t forget to vote above. I want to know what you think. It matters.

I like live readings I just don't have a lot of time to listen.
